Whatever happened to seeing a movie simply to enjoy it or have a good time? I don't understand why critics or viewers make it a point to pull every possible political, religious, or philosophical message out of a film, and then point fingers at the director or writer. Sure themes of Avatar can have religious or political aspects, but is that the real reason the movie was made?

I noticed during the movie that the Colonel makes a reference to wars he fought in Nicaragua and Venezuela, both countries that have significant oil reserves, suggesting America's fight for oil, while during the movie the military was making a strike to obtain the precious resource of the planet. Clearly there is a political message right there, but does it matter?

Who cares about the political or religious references that can be created by overzealous and obnoxious viewers. See the movie for what it is, an amazing display of virtual technology and computer generation that surpassed any form we've used in the past, and enjoy it.
